Veterinary Specialties
The AVMA currently recognizes 40 different veterinary specialties spread out over 22 veterinary speciality organizations. There is a huge diversity in specialty offerings from pathology, to feline medicine, to emergency and critical care. The AVMA provides a comprehensive list of the specialities, as well as links to their websites. Each organization’s website provides more information on their specialty as well as details the process of becoming a Diplomate.
